Lowe Rental at World Skills Abu Dhabi – October 2017

October 2017 saw Lowe Rental as an official sponsor at World Skills Abu Dhabi 2017.

What is World Skills?

World Skills showcases and celebrates vocational skills in a range of fields (59 to be exact). At its core, World Skills is an opportunity for young people compete, on an international scale, within their chosen skill. These skill sectors are broad, ranging from construction to creative arts and fashion, social and personal services to transportation and logistics, and many others in between.

Recently celebrating their 60th Anniversary (read more on that fantastic milestone here and check out their 60th anniversary booklet) World Skills has grown to be something of a hallmark of talent, allowing the future leaders of a diverse selection of sectors to thrive in the spotlight.

Of course, the best of the best need the very best tools at their disposal and that’s where Lowe, as an official sponsor, came in.

Supplying over 2,000 pieces of equipment across the large–scale, four–day event, Lowe’s top of the range service and equipment supported 7 skills in total – baking, cooking, patisserie and confectionary, restaurant services, floristry, visual merchandising and ICCA showcase.

52 kitchens were supplied and assembled for the Cookery, Bakery and Patisserie Skills, Floristry utilized 2× 40’ cold rooms, Restaurant Services and Visual Merchandising utilized refrigeration services, and for ICCA Showcase, a fully fitted interactive, demonstration kitchen was supplied and assembled.

Lowe also provided a kitchen for serving meals to delegates and a grab–and–go refrigeration in the front of house area – very important during such a busy event!
