Challenge

Osaka Expo 2025 is a six-month global exhibition held on Yumeshima Island, showcasing cutting-edge technology, cultural exchange, and sustainable innovation. Planning for the exhibition began 18 months in advance for a complex, multi-national installation requiring coordination with global construction partners and shipments from 8 countries, all while facing the unique challenges including Japan’s complex power configurations, strict import regulations, and language barriers.

Rental Solution

Lowe Rental provided a fully managed end-to-end rental solution, supplying 560+ items of refrigeration and modular cold rooms all engineered to meet Japan’s electrical standards. The solution included logistics, installation, and on-site support, all managed by a bilingual project team and trusted global logistic partners, to ensure any language barriers were overcome. Early CAD and MEP coordination ensured flawless integration with pavilion infrastructure, while daily maintenance and contingency planning ensured uninterrupted performance. This enabled each nation’s catering teams to deliver world-class hospitality from day one to closing day, making the exhibition a success.

Testimonial

"This project represented the culmination of years of experience and teamwork across our global network. From managing international logistics and new equipment sourcing to aligning with local regulations and power requirements, the team demonstrated what true collaboration looks like. Delivering the largest EXPO project in our Far East history, across three of the most popular pavilions, is something we’re incredibly proud of."
