Containerised Cold Storage That Scales With You

Our containerised cold storage arrives as bays and is assembled on site into a single continuous space. That is the difference between this and a row of separate boxes: you get one room, one temperature, one workflow, and your team moves stock through it without stepping outside.

Each configuration is built from the same modules, so capacity follows demand rather than the other way round. A two bay store handles seasonal overflow or a short promotional peak. Six bays carry a full distribution requirement through a refit or a site move. Because the bays share a structure but hold independent power, you can scale the footprint up for a busy quarter and take it back down afterwards.

Every configuration runs as a chiller or a freezer across the same range, so one unit covers chilled produce or frozen stock without any change of equipment.

Three standard configurations, all 12.2 metres deep and 2.9 metres high, all with the same temperature range. What changes is width and volume.

Internal height is 2.6 metres throughout, with door openings 2 metres high and 1.5 metres wide, so standard pallet handling equipment works without modification. Floors are rated for racking and traffic, and racking can be configured to suit how you pick.

A Fully Managed Cold Storage Hire

Rental is not just the equipment. Delivery, installation, servicing and breakdown cover are all included, and one payment covers the lot, so the cost is predictable and there is no capital tied up in an asset you will not always need.

Temperature is monitored remotely, giving you visibility of the store without anyone standing in front of it, and our service desk and engineers attend on site when it is needed. Lowe Rental has operated on that model since 1977, and maintains ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification across the business.

Power, Siting and Installation

Each pair of bays runs from its own motor and its own 16 amp supply, so a two bay store needs one and a six bay store needs three. The sections are designed to run independently, which is what makes phased expansion straightforward.

Units are designed for siting indoors or outdoors, on any reasonably level hard standing. Where a room has to go inside an existing building instead, our modular walk in cold room hire is built from panels carried in by hand and is the better answer. Our installation team delivers the bays, assembles them and commissions the refrigeration, and the same team removes everything at the end of the rental. Where access is restricted, we will survey the route before anything is scheduled, so the practicalities are settled before your operation is committed to a date.
